New York reshapes its training camp roster
The New York Knicks signed center Tony Bradley to an Exhibit 9 contract and guard Jaden Akins to a two-way deal on September 30, 2026, as they adjusted their roster during training camp. New York also waived John Konchar and N’Faly Dante.
The moves give Bradley a chance to compete for a regular-season place while establishing a separate development route for Akins. Bradley’s agreement is a training camp contract; the signing does not guarantee that he will make the final roster. Akins joins on a two-way arrangement connecting NBA and G League opportunities.
Bradley brings experience from eight NBA seasons. He split the previous campaign between Indiana and Atlanta, averaging 4.0 points and 2.8 rebounds in 41 appearances, according to Hoops Wire’s report on the transactions. His arrival adds another center for the coaching staff to evaluate as the preseason approaches.
Konchar had also been competing on a non-guaranteed camp agreement. SNY’s Ian Begley reported that he and the Knicks mutually agreed to part ways while the wing remained away for personal reasons. The team’s roster changes also included a brief signing and waiver of forward Toby Okani before Akins took a two-way place.
The transactions settle who is entering the next stage of camp, while leaving Bradley’s longer-term role open. Practice and preseason evaluation will determine whether the veteran center earns a place beyond camp.
