Golden State awaits clarity on Porziņģis availability
Kristaps Porziņģis will miss the start of Golden State’s training camp with an unspecified health issue, general manager Mike Dunleavy said at the Warriors’ September 28 Media Day. He is out indefinitely, with no timetable for a return.
Dunleavy said he learned of the issue on Sunday. Golden State is heading to Hawaii for camp, but the center will not be available for the opening work there.
According to Field Level Media, Dunleavy also said it was too early to determine whether Porziņģis would miss games. His camp absence therefore should not be turned into a confirmed regular-season absence.
Porziņģis joined Golden State from Atlanta at the 2026 trade deadline and agreed to a two-year extension during the summer. The immediate question is when he can rejoin team activities.
The club has not identified the cause of this latest absence. Until Golden State provides another update, both the medical explanation and the return schedule remain unconfirmed.
