Zheng saves set points before taking the Beijing final
Zheng Qinwen defeated Mirra Andreeva 7–5, 6–4 in Beijing on October 11 to become the first Chinese woman to win the China Open WTA 1000 singles title. The final lasted one hour and 43 minutes.
Zheng recovered from an early break and saved three set points in the opening set’s 10th game. She then won 11 consecutive points to take the set.
Both players traded early breaks in the second before Zheng broke again in the ninth game and served out the championship. The fourth-seeded Andreeva could not force a deciding set.
The victory gave Zheng her first WTA 1000 trophy and sixth tour singles title. It was also her first championship since Tokyo in 2024.
The wild-card entrant finished a week that had begun with four consecutive three-set matches by winning her last three in straight sets, completing a demanding title run at home.
