Miami’s frontcourt delivers as the Heat end a four-game skid
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo scored 24 points apiece as the Miami Heat beat the Atlanta Hawks 129–117 at State Farm Arena on Wednesday, October 28. The result, completed on October 29 in the Philippines, gave Miami its first victory after four defeats.
Antetokounmpo added 18 rebounds and Adebayo collected nine. Their combined 48 points and 27 rebounds anchored a performance in which Miami scored 70 points in the paint and shot 53 percent from the field.
The Heat’s official game report highlighted Adebayo’s early post scoring while Antetokounmpo dealt with foul trouble. Miami established a 34–25 first-quarter lead and reached halftime ahead 69–56, giving itself a cushion that Atlanta could not erase.
Andrew Wiggins contributed 18 points. Pelle Larsson added 17, eight assists and six rebounds, while Tim Hardaway Jr. supplied 14 off the bench. Hardaway’s late third-quarter three-pointer stretched the margin to 95–77, Miami’s largest lead of the game.
Kingston Flemings and Nickeil Alexander-Walker each scored 23 for Atlanta. Jalen Johnson finished with 12 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds but made four of his 12 shots. The Hawks fell to 2–3 with their third consecutive defeat.
Miami moved to 1–4 and will visit Indiana on Friday, October 30, US time. Atlanta’s next assignment is against Cleveland on Thursday. For the Heat, the result brings their first regular-season win with Antetokounmpo and a chance to build on a productive night from both starting big men.
