Porter leads Brooklyn while George stands out for Washington

Michael Porter Jr. scored a game-high 22 points as the Brooklyn Nets defeated the Washington Wizards 131–122 in preseason action on Monday, October 12, in Washington. The result was completed on Tuesday, October 13, Philippine time.

Julius Randle supported Porter with 14 points and nine assists. Brooklyn finished nine points clear in a high-scoring game that gave its offense another opportunity to work through combinations before the regular season.

Kyshawn George supplied one of Washington’s strongest performances. He scored 21 points, missed only one shot and added four assists and three steals, according to Sports Illustrated’s assessment of the game.

Alex Sarr had a more difficult shooting night, making 30 percent of his field-goal attempts. Washington’s individual positives were not enough to prevent its first preseason defeat.

Porter’s scoring and Randle’s distribution provided two different contributions to Brooklyn’s result. The nine assists were particularly notable alongside Randle’s points, showing that his involvement extended beyond finishing possessions himself.

For Washington, George’s efficient scoring and defensive activity offered useful evidence despite the final margin. Preseason results do not count toward the NBA standings; the immediate value lies in evaluating players, combinations and execution before games begin to affect the regular-season record.
