Knicks Fall to 0–3 After Magic’s Fourth-Quarter Comeback

Orlando overturns New York’s lead at Madison Square Garden

The Orlando Magic defeated the New York Knicks 111–102 at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, October 25, US time, using a decisive fourth quarter to earn their first victory of the season and leave New York at 0–3.

Franz Wagner scored 21 of his 23 points in the final period, according to the Associated Press game report. He also finished with 13 rebounds and nine assists. Orlando won the fourth quarter 40–27 after trailing 75–71 entering the period.

New York had controlled much of the earlier action. The Knicks led 28–21 after the first quarter and 52–48 at halftime, but they could not turn those advantages into a first win. Orlando's late surge changed the outcome after three quarters in which the home side had remained in front.

The Magic played without Paolo Banchero, who is dealing with an ankle injury. Desmond Bane provided 22 points, while Orlando's perimeter shooting gave Wagner support as the visitors took over down the stretch.

Orlando made 18 of 42 three-point attempts. New York finished eight of 34, leaving a difference of 10 made threes and 30 points from that area of the floor. Jalen Brunson scored 28 for the Knicks, but the team could not match the visitors' outside production.

The victory also came with a concern for Orlando: Jalen Suggs left the game after an awkward landing and was helped to the locker room. The reviewed game report did not establish a definitive diagnosis, so the incident should not be treated as a confirmed long-term absence.

Orlando moved to 1–2. For New York, the immediate problem was closing a game it had led for extended stretches. The Knicks' early-season record now reflects three defeats, with their fourth-quarter defense and shooting both under scrutiny after this result.
