The game offered an early look at Orlando under Sean Sweeney. Orlando led 36–26 after one quarter and 64–61 at halftime. The Magic restored a seven-point cushion entering the fourth period and held on despite Memphis winning the final quarter 31–28.

Tristan da Silva led Orlando with 19 points, including four three-pointers. Jamal Cain added 15, and Carter finished with 13. The Magic made 20 of 45 attempts from beyond the arc and totaled 35 assists.

Jalen Suggs and Anthony Black did not play. Jase Richardson started at guard and finished with three points, three rebounds and three assists. Alex Morales contributed 10 rebounds, five of them offensive, during an extended opportunity alongside Orlando’s rotation players.

Ty Jerome scored 17 for Memphis, while Cameron Boozer supplied 16 points and six rebounds. The Grizzlies fell to 1–1 in preseason as Orlando began 1–0. Those records are exhibition results and do not affect the regular-season standings.
