Barcelona Match Club Record With Eighth Straight La Liga Win

Three scorers keep Barcelona’s perfect start intact

Barcelona beat Getafe 3–0 at Spotify Camp Nou on October 10 in Spain, early October 11 in the Philippines, to record an eighth consecutive La Liga victory. The result matched the club’s best opening league sequence, previously achieved in 2013–14.

Anthony Gordon opened the scoring in the second minute with a deflected shot for his first Barcelona goal. Gabriel Jesus doubled the lead on the half-hour after winning possession and advancing into the penalty area.

Jules Koundé completed the scoring in the 73rd minute from Lamine Yamal’s cross. Getafe goalkeeper David Soria prevented further goals, but Barcelona finished with a clean sheet and all 24 available points from eight matches.

The home side won without Raphinha, who was absent with a minor thigh problem. The club’s report identified a Champions League trip to Galatasaray as the next assignment after this record-equalling league performance.
