Memphis turns a late 12-point deficit into a road victory
Cameron Boozer’s late jumper helped the Memphis Grizzlies complete a 111–108 comeback victory over the Golden State Warriors at Chase Center on Friday, October 23. The game ended on October 24 in Philippine time.
Golden State held a 106–94 lead with 3:47 remaining, but Memphis outscored the home team 17–2 from that point. Boozer’s go-ahead shot came with 20 seconds left, turning a strong individual performance into the decisive moment of the night.
The rookie finished with 25 points, 13 rebounds and six assists. Ty Jerome led Memphis with 28 points, following his 45-point performance in the season opener with another substantial scoring contribution.
Stephen Curry scored 24 points for Golden State. Rookie Yaxel Lendeborg contributed 18 points, 13 rebounds and six assists, while Brandin Podziemski also scored 18. Those performances put the Warriors in position to win before their offense stalled down the stretch.
Memphis improved to 2–0 and Golden State fell to 0–2. The closing run explains the result more clearly than the earlier lead: a 12-point advantage disappeared because the Grizzlies continued producing while the Warriors added only two points.
For Boozer, the winning basket complemented his rebounding and playmaking. Memphis received a broad contribution from its rookie while Jerome again carried a large share of the scoring.
