Chelsea’s fast start establishes control

João Pedro and Jordan Henderson each scored twice as Chelsea defeated Bournemouth 5–1 at Stamford Bridge on October 10. Morgan Rogers supplied the other Chelsea goal in a match shaped by two early strikes.

Henderson opened the scoring in the second minute and then provided the pass for Rogers to make it 2–0. Chelsea’s official report recorded the second goal at two minutes and 29 seconds, the club’s earliest two-goal lead in a Premier League match.

João Pedro added the third immediately after halftime following Pedro Neto’s work near the byline. Evanilson pulled one back in the 51st minute, but Bournemouth’s response did not last.

João Pedro scored again in the 67th minute before Henderson completed his double with a free-kick. The result returned Chelsea to winning ways and gave Henderson two goals on his home debut for the club.
