Porziņģis Set for Warriors Facility Return as Status Unclear

Kristaps Porziņģis is expected back at the Warriors facility, but Steve Kerr says there is still no timetable for his return to the court.

Porziņģis Expected Back at Warriors Facility but Playing Return Remains Uncertain

Facility visit brings an update but no playing timetable

Kristaps Porziņģis is expected to return to the Golden State Warriors’ facility on Tuesday afternoon, October 13, in the United States, coach Steve Kerr said. The update does not establish when the center will resume playing.

ESPN’s Anthony Slater reported that Porziņģis would meet with the team’s medical staff in San Francisco. He has missed the opening two weeks of preseason while dealing with what the Warriors have described as a private health issue.

Kerr has remained in contact with medical staff and the front office. No date for a return to the court accompanied the facility update, leaving his availability separate from his expected presence at the team’s headquarters.

Porziņģis appeared in 34 games last season across Atlanta and Golden State. The Warriors acquired him in February, making his availability a continuing consideration as they prepare their rotation for the new campaign.

A facility visit should not be read as clearance for practice or games. Those are separate milestones, and the next meaningful update will be confirmation of what basketball activity he is cleared to undertake.
