Barcelona turn a first-half deficit into an away victory

Barcelona defeated Galatasaray 4–1 at the Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex in Istanbul on October 13, recovering from a goal down in their second match of the 2026–27 Champions League league phase. The result arrived early on October 14 in the Philippines.

Aleksey Batrakov put Galatasaray ahead in the 28th minute. The hosts also had a subsequent effort ruled out for offside before João Cancelo equalised in the 43rd minute, sending the teams into halftime level at 1–1.

Barcelona changed the score decisively after the interval. Fermín López headed in a Lamine Yamal delivery in the 50th minute, and Anthony Gordon finished three minutes later after another contribution from Yamal. Karim Adeyemi added the fourth goal in the 65th minute.

The sequence transformed a competitive first half into a clear away win. Barcelona scored three times in a 15-minute second-half span, leaving Galatasaray with a deficit they could not recover.

Yamal’s influence extended beyond the scoring list. His involvement in the moves for López and Gordon helped Barcelona turn possession in the attacking third into the goals that separated the teams. The final score therefore reflected contributions from several different attackers rather than a single scorer.

Galatasaray’s next Champions League assignment is away to Lille on October 21, according to the club’s match report. The Turkish side must now respond to a second league-phase defeat after losing its opening match to Sporting CP.
